The legend of the cobblestones. A number of years ago,cobblestones (belgan blocks) were removed from Main Street....according to a local business person, an Italian shoemaker watching the scene, who could see things others could not, said that the removal of the cobblestones marked the beginning of difficult times for Darby and indeed, there have been a number of difficult years. When the artist did the trolley mural at 9th and Main a few years ago, he made sure to include cobblestones. Can replacing the blocks, at least symbolically, restore our balance and make things go the other way?...Time alone will tell
