Old Borough Hall was donated to Darby by the Lloyd family (Quakers) about 1840 and served as Darby's first public school. Following incorporation of the Borough in 1853, it served as municipal offices, a police station, and a jail.
The Friends of  the Blue Bell, are dedicated to the preservation of area historical asssets and are sponsoring the The Friends of Old Borough Hall in their efforts to create a museum of Darby and Area history.
"And thy called in Macaroni"  honors the "can-do" spirit of Yankee Doodle of Revolutionary War fame
