About Darby Friends Meeting |

Darby Friends Meeting was organized in 1682 and meetings |
|
|
|
were originally held in the home of Darby founder John Blunston. |
|
|
|
The current meeting house (the third) located at 1017 Main Street was built in 1805 and is |
|
|
|
listed on the National Register of Historic Places. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Meeting for worship takes place on Sunday (first day) at 11:00 a.m. |
|
|
|
in the manner of Friends, by sitting in silence and listening |
|
|
|
to that small voice within, to discern God's will. |
|
|
|
The term " Friends" (as in the Religious Society of Friends) |
|
|
|
comes from the words of Jesus: "Servants don't know what |
|
