The Bunting House, (circa 1730-2005) was part of the Darby streetscape for nearly three centuries and was destroyed between December 16 and 19, 2005. Located at 1205 Main Street in Darby, it did not have to come down and should not have come down, but it did. As private property and without an ordinance to stop demolition, there was little that could be done. Its destruction is a loss to all of us and may perhaps be a wake up call to save those buildings we CAN do something about.
